Territory and the Race War
Alliances, glyph territories, holdings, villages, fortresses and Faction War scoring.
These are the Beta rules as of 2 October 2026, each from the newest official source on that point. Rules change by patch: check the latest official posts.
The three alliances
As of 25 Sep 2026 · Source: Announcement, 4 September, Reforged changelog, 25 September
- Righteous Trinity: Human, Dwarf and Mirdain. Savage Raiders: Mahirim and Ork. Scourge of Nagast: Alfar.
- Only lawful players count in the Race War. Faction cities open on scheduled windows: guard towers fall first, then the bind stone, and the side with the most total damage wins.
Faction War scoring
As of 2 Oct 2026 · Source: Patch notes, 2 October
- Lawful players score 100 per kill and 40 per assist on lawful or capital tiles.
- A lawful glyph capture or cancelled challenge scores 300 (twice per glyph per alliance per day).
- Leaderboards run by day, week, month and all time.
Faction gates
As of 2 Oct 2026 · Source: Patch notes, 2 October
- Gates open and close at 200 alignment, and faction bind stones allow binding at 200.
Territory Control
As of 25 Sep 2026 · Source: Announcement, 4 September, Reforged changelog, 25 September
- Rune glyphs anchor territories. A Glyph Wand starts a challenge and the owner has 30 minutes to respond.
- Channelling 30 seconds at the stone cancels a challenge. An unanswered glyph flips and is immune for an hour.
- Territories pay extra loot, XP and harvest yield, with diminishing returns past 100%. Linked holdings add to the network.
- A siege needs the connected glyph, and gateway glyphs come first.
- See who holds what right now on the Territory page.
Holdings
As of 2 Oct 2026 · Source: Reforged changelog, 25 September
- Mainland holdings are faction-owned. The four corner islands hold clan cities and hamlets.
- The API counts 97 holdings: 32 clan cities, 26 clan hamlets, 12 faction cities and 27 faction hamlets.
Villages and fortresses
As of 2 Oct 2026 · Source: Patch notes, 1 October, Reforged changelog, 25 September
- There are 54 villages: 16 lawful (control-point, staggered), 24 lawless and 14 sea (shared schedules). State and next change come only from the API; see the live village timers.
- Sea villages have paid half as many treasure maps since 1 October.
- Three fortresses: Ubelenfau (land), Hellstorm Waters and Burning Glory (sea). Capturing one also pays 100 to 250 Foreboding Crystals, 3 of one rare material and a 25% chance at a recipe scroll.
Clans
As of 2 Oct 2026 · Source: Reforged changelog, 25 September, Patch notes, 1 October, Patch notes, 2 October
- Daily and weekly clan tasks pay maintenance points, which now pay holding upkeep (there is an auto-pay option).
- City buffs run on platinum charges bought at the church, keep and guilds. Node vaults fill as the clan hunts and harvests, then pay out at 100%.
- Capturing a tower pays 3,000 points. Clan kill tasks name a monster family.
